sim history

Postby flamingfox on Thu Dec 01, 2005 10:22 pm

hi, I'm trying to write an article about simulators, the history and where it's heading for an online magazine, but I am having trouble finding information about older simulators, I am looking for any site that provides information about simulators released between 1990 and 2000.

ANY help would be appreciated, thanks!

I found a site on MS Flight Simulator 1980-2005: http://fshistory.simflight.com/fsh/
http://fshistory.simflight.com/fsvault/downloads.htm

Lots of links to check out here:

Will be back with more later :)

Great topic :)

I started with Sublogic's FS 1 (1980-ish on a Tandy trs80 system) ( It was later taken over by M$ and started the M$ line of flight sims))

if you go to the main page of thenext link you might find some great info:
http://fshistory.simflight.com/fsvault/fs1-apple.htm

If I'm not mistaken it also has a free copy for download to play FS1 on a PC :D

Try with some of our older sim pilots at http://www.wingwalkers.org

We've been an online squadron since 1992 starting with the original Red Baron on the old TSN and INN network service. Not positive but I think it makes the longest continuously active Squadron in existence.
