Airwarfare website changes

Postby EURO_Snoopy on Sun Mar 11, 2007 4:12 pm

First, don't worry these forums are unaffected and will go on as long as there is still interest from the community. (aside from that max would probably lych me ;))

I have switched airwarfare over to the same system as M4T. It has been necessary to roll out this site quickly as it is difficult to keep up with the huge amount of content we will be covering using the old site format.

The original AW website will remain open while content is moved, Airwarfare forums will remain open becoming a 'legacy forum' a new Airwarfare forum covering all sims will be available at the new site.

AWSN will be the central website covering all sims past and present, it will also continue to provide FAQ's, forums, tactical and technical guides in the same way it has in the past.

Popular sims with a dedicated following will be given an exclusive website on the network. M4T is the first of these 'spin off' sites and is dedicated to the IL-2 series the addition of a dedicated site for Storm Of War is also planned.

Below are all the links to the legacy websites and the new Network sites

Airwarfare.(Legacy) - Airwarfare Forums (legacy) - Mission4Today IL-2 Specialist Website

Thanks to MaxMhz for taking care of these forums and thanks to mudpuppy and the others who have been helping in our war against spam. The new system is spam proof, so far.... and I can only hope that the devs of this board wake up and pull their fingers out to address the spam problem.

Thanks for the heads-up Snoopy - Exiting times ahead :D

Don't worry I'd never lynch you, whatever happens IMHO Airwarfare is the best community around. Where would we all go; there's no alternative...

Thanks for your dedication m8!

Good to hear it will be spam-proof too! That way we can all concentrate on helping instead of looking at annoying garbage

Not that I could add much to what Max said below. Great sites and thanks for your hard work in making them so. I'll admit I did panic a bit when I found myself at a different looking site off my favourites list. :?

I suppose I was to register and all that and I'm looking forward now to my first post on the new Airwarfare site.
I have always thought that this (and M4T) have been the best sites for this flight sim. I'm looking forward to it's evolution and am confident that it'll be of the same high quality at the end of the day.

Now, it's off to the barbers chair for me so the wife can give me a buzz from the clippers. Maybe I should check how much of that wine is left she opened after dinner?
