Lag issue?

Postby VR Chalky on Sun May 14, 2006 12:05 pm

~S~

I've noticed I'm getting a slight lag in IL2 V4.05 between spoken commands and the actual execution? I'm only getting this in game, and NOT when I "Test Phrase" with VAC. The response is instant.

My Command Attributes are:

Duration: 300. All command values except gear up/down, ATC and the like.

Pause: 1.

Is there a way to rectify this?

Oops, gota go the Spanish Grand Prix is just a bout to start!!!

Cheers

Hi VR!

Just a couple of quick questions for you, are you running Team Speak also? Did VAC start giving you lag when you installed IL2 v4.05?

Enjoy the race. :D

Lag issue?

Postby VR Chalky on Sun May 14, 2006 9:46 pm

Hi mate!

Yes, I'm running Teamspeak 2 RC2, and sometimes my TS server.

Just spotted an error in my first post  Should be Gear up/down MANUALLY ... sorry. IE. repeat 50.

Not too sure but I've only noticed it recently so it maybe something to do with V4.05? It's not that bad, but I find I have to say things twice. No real problem when the Qualifier/Extended or Character keys aren't the same, but can be if they are! IE. Activation Phrase: "Undercarriage" I use keyboard "G" to toggle gear up/down. With the lag this has caused the U/C to extend then retract. Not exactly a good idea when landing

I'm wondering if by changing the Duration/Pause settings this would help, or am I barking up the wrong tree :smt102

Appreciate this could not be a VAC related issue, but it's bloody annoying all the same :smt093

Fernando walked it :)

Hi VR,

I don't think the duration would fix the problem. I believe the issue is related to TS. Thanks to Gadget for tracking this one down http://www.airwarfare.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1242, check out the last three post made by Gadget.

Try running IL2 and VAC without TS running and let me know what happens.

Let's keep our fingers crossed,

Ah here we go!

OK I've tried your suggestions RE. Gadget's posts, and although I think it did make things a tad better still not quite as I'd expected.

Just about to give up! BUT to cut to the chase. I had been using a headset the AUDIO FX you know the one with the bass amp. ( interprets frequencies below 20Hz and turns them into vibrations) Nice idea and it does work!

Decided to change my headset and see if that helped ... it did. Carried out a Speech Training session etc. etc. first naturally. Touch wood! The response is fine now :)

Just tried it with my TS server running, and it's still OK!

Muchas gracias! As Fernando Alonso would say
