EURO_Snoopy of Airwarfare was so very kind to create a topic for QMT and VAC for me so users could have a place to go and discuss the tools, get answers and chat with the creator. This is a good place for ideas and problem solving. So come on in and make your posts know and a huge THANK YOU goes to EURO_Snoopy.

Shift_E, is VAC actually available yet or is it still under development?

And if you are for looking for beta testers for this I would be interested. I like the concept of voice activation for gaming but when I tried shoot which seemed good at first, I found that ambient noise often made it impractical to use. So would be very keen to watch you app develop here.

Great idea this app of yours I think.

Cheers, CrazySchmidt. :)

VAC is in beta-test and should be out very soon. Just about all the functionality is finished and mainly what remains is shining it up. I'd say it's within a week or so of being released.

Shift_E,

Great job! Looking forward to trying this out.

Just a small point - in the heading listed "antimony an action" you might want to change the spelling to "anatomy of an action". It's a little confusing as antimony is a natural white metallic element used chiefly as a hardening substance in alloys such as bronze.

Oh man, that's a good one. Thank you so much Phalcon51. I'll go bury my head in the sand now. :P

Help in setting up VAC with IL2-1946

PostPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 4:20 pm

I understand how to set up my own commands in the VAC builder. I am not to clear though on a couple of other things.
1. How do I use Dick Dastardlys pre-made files for IL2. I can load them into the builder, but I don't seem to understand his directions on getting IL2 to take his command file (.ini) and put it into the sim so it will show up on the setup screen in the control screen....I have tried dragging it into the Users folder but is just gives me the defualt game setup....
2. I had the same problem with VoiceBuddy...and I gave up on that platform since the customer service gave me no help on getting it running on IL2-1946.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....I love this sim but it is becoming frustrating to play with out a voice command..
Thanks

Hello Camerabuddha,

I believe the (.ini) file is DD's key mappings for IL2 and his instructions wanted you to copy over your key mappings. The key mappings are what you have assigned game functions to your keyboard, like assigning (Shift+p) for bailout, this key assignment only exists on your computer and is stored in the (.ini) file.

So there may be a better way for you to work with the profile, check a function you are interested in using in the VAC Builder and note the key command VAC will be sending. Then start IL2 and check the VAC action against the IL2 key mapping for that action, if they match nothing needs to be done, if they do not you can change the key assignment in IL2 to match VAC or change VAC key command to match IL2. I sugguest you change the assignments in VAC to match IL2.

The last way is what DD's instructions wanted you to do and edit or copy the (.ini) file to the user folder in IL2.

With all that said, here's a suggestion to make your own profile.

Create a new empty profile in the VAC Builder, then load DD's profile in the VAC Builder and select a few actions you wish to try. You can use ctrl click to select multiples actions in the list box, right-click to open the menu and choice "Export Selected" and your newly create profile. Now load up your new profile and make any changes you wish, save to update the profile and then test it out IL2. You can add more commands when ever you wish, either importing them or creating your own. It will not take very long before you have a huge profile of your own.
