WILL VAC WORK WITH MS SPEECH RECOGNIZER V6.1

Postby JeanGuy on Tue Feb 01, 2005 7:21 am

Hello Shift_E,

Will your latest version of VAC V 1.26 work with Microsoft English (US) V6.1 Recognizer? Your web site suggest that V5.1 is needed.

Thank you

Hi JeanGuy,

I went searching for V6.1 and found that there is no redistributable form of the 6.1 engine available. So the answer is I'm not sure.

If you have Speech 6.1 on your system you could try the smaller of the two downloads as it doesn't contain the 5.1 redistributable and see if it works.

I'll try and see if I can get V6.1.

Hello Shift_E.

I will try to get VAC 1.27, small download, working with Microsoft English (US) V6.1 Recognizer as soon as I have completed the profiling and setups for my new Saitek X-52 flight controller as well as the upgrading of TrackIR 3 Pro to True Vector 4.0.021. Must keep variables managable since Microsoft English (US) V6.1 Recognizer & VAC v1.27 are untested entities. I will get back to you ASAF.

I too was unable to find a download for Microsoft English (US) V6.1 Recognizer at the Microsoft web site. The download for Microsoft English (US) V5.1 Recognizer shows up in the search but nada v6.1.

Thanks for quick answer Shift_E :D :)

I've just finished testing VAC with Recognizer v6.1 and it works as well as 5.1.

Shift E,

Great news, I will install the latest version of VAC on my computer today or tomorrow. How did you finally manage to acquire Recognizer v6.1?

Thanks again for posting back,

Recognizer v6.1 comes with Office 2003. You can also have v5.1 and v6.1 on your computer at the same time switching between the two anytime you want.
