Two questions about profiles

Postby Phalcon51 on Tue Feb 01, 2005 9:47 pm

When I click on File/Load Profile or /Remove Profile it shows 2 of every profile title, one below the other. Is this as intended or a fluke?

Also, can I import Shoot profiles directly and just edit them to save some typing time, or is the format very different?

Thanks

PS - you still need to add the "of" to 'anatomy "of" an action'. :smt023

I double checked it twice this time, ah who am I kidding I thought I have it covered the first time you told me.
LOL :?

The double enteries shouldn't be there, it would be a fluke if you didn't do it on purpose, did you import them or add them twice? I can see why you question it though with my track record on the 'anatomy' thing. :-) You should just be able to remove the extra profile name.

Or tell me what you did to get the double enteries to show up so I can see what's going on.

I almost created an import from Shoot to VAC, but I didn't think it would be a nice thing to do. The Shoot profiles are too different in format to import directly into VAC.

I did add profile download page to the web site for user created profiles.

I'm at work right now so I can't check, but I don't think I entered them twice. In the Profiles folder there are only 2 .xml files; Pacific Fighters and CFS3. In the File/Load or Remove menu it appears like this:

CFS3
CFS3
Pacific Fighters
Pacific Fighters

If I remove the profile does it actually delete the .xml file? I'll make a backup of the profiles and try it when I get home and let you know what happens.

In the Install folder there is a file that I use for the list, it's called "Profiles.xml". I bet that file contains double enteries, however how they got there is a mystery to me.

If you use the option to "Remove Profile" in VAC, it only moves the file to a folder called "Profiles\Archive" and removes the entry in the "Profiles.xml" file. So VAC doesn't delete the file.

I went ahead and removed one of each of the double entries, which moved the profiles to the Archive folder. Then, I just copied them back to the Profiles folder and they loaded without any problem.

Thanks for the quick replies.
