TS and Speech Recognition programs

Postby Antifreeze on Sat Feb 05, 2005 6:11 pm

Can anyone explain why VAC, VoiceFlux and Shoot all crash when TS is loaded? It's crazy... I can actually have all three voice recognition programs working together simulataneously, sharing SAPI and the mic input quite happily. But TS blocks all of them from using something in the sound engine or hardware.
If I load TS first, all the speech programs crash either on load or when the PTT key is pressed.
If I load any of the speech recognition programs first, TS loads but mutes the microphone.

Any ideas?

I have heard this from others using Win2k, they believe is Win2k not sharing the SAPI service. This only seems to be happen on Win2k and I have not heard of any solutions yet.

OK, thanks for confirming.
That's a pity... I love Win2000 and would never consider changing.

I hear you about Win2k. There is one other possibility you may want to consider. I've heard some users have had some luck with an USB microphone since it does not use the sound card and has it's own device. Just a thought.
