A request for VAC

Postby MaXMhZ on Tue Feb 08, 2005 11:30 pm

Hi Shift_E - and thanks for a marvelous program - I got a request though -

A method to startup an external program and give that focus on a phrase...
And a method to "hot-link" to other profiles using a VAC phrase (e.g. let another profile "take over" ) ...

:D

p.s. I'm reworking IL2Gizmo now to have commands that are selectable by control key/letter combinations :D

Hi,

Your welcome, it's been a fun project and lots of great suggestions. You are in luck with the "hot-link", I just finished that today. :)

You want to control IL2Gizmo by voice don't you. :D I have had that request to keep a window in focus, but that can get ugly. I never thought about launching apps, I suppose I could do that.

Are you using Delphi? I have an idea for IL2Gizmo and launching apps, it could be a fun one for you if your interested.

When are we going to get IL2Gizmo anyway?

Using Delphi 7 Enterprise edition - but just learning it :D - that's why I do it in the first place - but that aside I did program a lot so ;) and It's coming along now - well slowly realy ;) still learning about the conf.ini file while I go...

But yes - I'll make il2gizmo as external friendly as possible (command line - letter combo's for settings etc :D) I also have some buttons for starting external programs (the one for VAC works well :D ) - with command line if wanted :D

Image

a startup option (command line/default) profile would be handy :D also for VAC

And sure I'm interested :D

Do be warned about IL2Gizmo - It cannot alter IL-2 Settings realtime !

IL-2 FB reads conf.ini on start and writes it on exit :(

That is going to be excellent! I added commandline options to VAC also. :D

Alright, here's my idea. One thing everyone seems to had troubles with, is the start up of the programs they want to run with IL2. For example VAC needs to start first then Track IR, from what I heard. Since you are launching apps anyway, you could have an app list to launch the apps in the correct order for IL2. Just one click and everything loads up and you are ready to play.

You ready should get your app out, it's pretty cool. I know I could use it.

Well first off thanks for your great program, best yet! I use XP and TrackIR loads on startup, then later I load builder to do my profiles that I'm still working on, and then VAC starts no probs. By the way, whats the best way to get saying things like FOV (at moment I'm using EffoVee, which is working), but some wont recognise like 100 (had to go to "flat out"). It does recognise some numbers, but mixes up others. Anyway, thanks again for a terrific program.

You're welcome, glad you enjoy it. You could use "Field of view", VAC may have trouble with letters only. However if you are having good luck they way you are currently doing it, you've found the best way. :D

Rather than 100 try one hundred. Another way is to speak the phrase rather than typing it.
