Now, i test the vac'ability to switch on 2 profiles. It allows to avoid some probs of "recognisation" (good term?). I especially have difficulties with the words beginning with the "A" syllab". Accentuation matter. ( for it, i write "HA": in F, it sounds like "I" ...and it works!)
But the whole business tends to be a compromise between english and french terms. Finally the longest words are often more easy to use than the shortest which makes "troubles". I suppose it deals with the settings i tuned, slightly on low level for the sensitivity and quasi-totally on left side for accuracy...
I noticed too, that results are sensitive to the used quality micro. It can make difference.
If you have any advice on this...: "J'ai les yeux et les oreilles grandes ouvertes"

Despite all of this, results "sounds" great, and it's all all about fun to be able to give wingman orders using radio! (And get the good result, above all !!!) I use vac so to control track ir and some tricks like zoom, map and views too.

Lollypop.

I salute you in working around the English version of the SAPI 5.1. Nicely done. :D

I'm glad to hear it is working well for you.

The sounds work when you speak a command, but you need to set each command to use sound seperatly (enableing sound only enables it to the command you are currenty testing not all commands at once).
As for the "on/off" sound I found that I set the key command to turn VAC on and off was already assigned for something else, after assigning it to a keystroke that wasn't being used it will now play a sound each time. So it appears user error once again! LOL

I'm currently running Voice rec version 5, does VAC work better with the 5.1 version that you include with the download? I have the full install but will wait and see if I experiance any other troubles before installing 5.1.
VAC is great and I only get a few "misunderstandings", such as if I cough my Bombdier will report in, LOL!!! Just a little more fiddling with the properties and all will be good! ;)

Yes, I believe there were changes for the better in SAPI 5.1. From what I've read you need to uninstall SAPI 5.0 first. If you are running Windows XP, create a restore point first he you have a place to go back to.

In the VAC Builder go to Tools- Profile Properties and under Pronunciation Sensitivity move the slider to 3/4. That should have stop commands beings recognized by mistake.

I'm not sure if it was user error or poor documentation. :yawinkle:

Hello all!
I didn't know that the full install package you have would install the 5.1 and VAC all at once, I was hoping there would be a read me for the 5.1 before it installed. I couldn't find a uninstall for Speech recognition anywhere and wanted to know how to uninstall it before updating to 5.1.
But running the full install, 5.1 appeared to install just fine without removing the older 5.0 version! Haven't given it a real good long work out but from what I can tell from inital testing the 5.1 version seems a bit more accurate, faster reconizing commands and not as many errors (such as If I cough now my Bombadier doesn't confirm his exsitstance, LOL ).

So it appears to have installed over the older version just fine, if I notice any conflicts I'll be sure and post them.
