Unable to get VAC working

Postby ramenstyle on Sun Jun 12, 2005 5:18 am

Hi,
I am new to all this voice activation stuff. I recently downloaded VAC 1.6.5, and it seems like I can't get anything to work. I can't import profiles, sometimes when I go to Help > Contents, or other functions, or try to run VAC System, it gives me this -- 'Run-time error '91': Object variable or With block variable not set'. Help! Do I have to register this product to use it? Thanks in advanced!

Hello,

First, you don't need to register VAC before using it. You can use VAC for 30 days before having to register it, the best in money back guarantees. It sounds like you scripting runtime component is out of date, try the link below to update the scripting component on your system.

http://www.microsoftcom/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

I’m also assuming you are running Windows XP and you downloaded and installed the larger file that includes the speech engine version 5.1 of VAC.

Let me know if this works for you. If you want faster help you can email me at vacsupport (-at-) comcast (-dot-) net.

I'll keep plugging away, but I dwnloaded dastardly's profile, have the pacific fighters profile, made up a few commands for myselftoo. Have practiced speaking, and have the mike displayed in the task bar with a P and a green 0. I flash up IL2 off line but do not see anything telling me Voice is active, and do not have responces to my "Gear down" Gear up responses. I am registered, paid my ten bucks yeaterday. Do you have a procedure to gear this up like paint by numbers etc.. Step one do this, step two etc...cudgel

Hi Cudgel,

What is your key assignment for gear in IL2? If it is "g", make sure it's the same in VAC and case matters. If the key command is "g", do not enter a "G" in VAC, because that will send a "Shift+g" to the game instead of a "g". While starting out with VAC, it's best to assign a success sound to the command, that way you'll know if the command you gave was recognized by VAC.

One more thing to check is you are flying a plane that isn't using the manual gear command.

If you wish to email me till you get started, please fill feel to do so.

I hope this helps,

Thank you for your prompt responce. I finaly found where you type in the "g" for gear, and "i" for engines.. Is working now, except for getting hold of ground controll which is activated by Tab.. Cudgel
