PTA?

Postby JohnnyChemo on Wed Nov 09, 2005 2:52 am

I've been trying to get PTA working correctly with my F4AF profile, and it seems that something is hosed somewhere. When I initially fire up the program, it works as it should- no commands are recognized until I hit the requisite key (I tried scroll lock, F11 and F12 with no luck), but once I hit the PTA key, it seems as if it is stuck on- ie all commands are recognized regardless of the state of the key.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

What version are you running? The install file date and time if you still have it should be: 10/18/2005 9:31am. If it's not could you re-download and install from the VAC web site again. I just tried your profile and set F11 as PTA using notepad, it worked as expected. I know, I know I hate those answers too, "it works on my computer". :)

Let me know and we'll if all is okay on the install file, we'll go to step 2.

 I coulda swore I had the 1.76 version, it seems I have 1.75.

I'll download the latest and get right back to you!

Edit: Please confirm the date above- mine is dated 10/8, not 10/18, though the time is the same as above.

My mistake it is 10/8/2005.

And since I'm on a roll for making mistakes, I can be wrong about the PTA. It is working on my version, so if it still doesn't work for you I'll upload the newest version VAC.

It is working for the most part, though it seems like I have to hold the key down a second or so after I finish speaking the command. Does that sound right?

Yes, that is correct, the key has to be held down till the action is triggered. You know the PTA should only be used in a high noise environment, where there is a lot of talking, otherwise it shouldn't be used. I've added a couple of tricks to ensure stray phrases shouldn't get recognized.

Hope this helps,

I've found that with all the chatter in Falcon 4, it was getting inadvertently triggered rather often. PTA seems to be the solution (as well as more realistic! :D )
