This is a companion piece to a television show , made in UK by channel 4. This show sought to replicate the training that Spitfire pilots would have, before flying in the Battle of Britain and recount the stories of those who flew at the time.
Unfortunately there is not much to recommend in this book, it is like a lite and slightly gung ho version of “Fighter Boys” by Patrick Bishop. There are plenty of quotes from pilots from the Battle of Britain but you have probably seen them before or very similar. I think the book is aimed at someone with little or no previous experience of the conflict and as such was a bit basic and sometimes poorly structured.
I would recommend that you buy Fighter Boys instead if wanting a general history of the Battle of Britain.
