Unable to disable

Postby henkypenky on Sun Aug 10, 2008 6:36 am

Hello, I've got me a problem; I can't seem to disable (RAF)roundels on some planes. This doesn't work with the Hurricane MkI but it does work with Tomahawk, Tempest. How can I make it work with the Hurri??

The Hurricane MkI is not an official plane.

If you choose to install mod planes, you should ask for advice at AAA forums if things don't work.
Keep a log of what mods you installed. Sooner or later you will need it.
And make a backup of the complete official game before you start adding mods.

If you break things you will need it to restore the game.

Hi Max, say what? Hurricane Mk I not an official plane??, think your mixed up Spitfire with Hurricane. I've followed your advise on the M4T forum about ClearCache=0, and making the Cache + Netcache readable. First thing worked ok, but making the Cache / Netcache readable did'nt work, even with Takeownership. Even tried to change things from the 'commandline' but this also failed. I'll have a computermechanic overhere in a couple of days, see if he's able to change it.

So where is the Hurricane Mk I then:

Image

There is no flyable Hurri Mk I or an AI hurri Mk I - not even a static Mk I - the only thing referring to a Hurri Mk I is a (faulty) skin folder.

Are you sure you're not using a custom skin with roundels on it and confusing types yourself?

OK Sorry - I was wrong.

There is a Hurricane Mk I in the game.

This seems to be an axis variant (at least I found it amongst the axis planes in the list.

I can't help you with this problem. It could be Aces made the same mistake as me and never looked at that part of the list for a Hurricane.

Support for MAT Manager has stopped years ago. Any support that is still there is from users or people who used to use it.

If you want to get rid of the markings, set ClearCach=1, run the game, quit then run again. There should be no more markings at all then. If you want to change properties or contents of the cached files, you CAN NOT run MAT Manager or the game or any other utility/program that uses the files you want to change.

That'll be interesting.

Some NTFS ownership or Admin access related setting no doubt ;)
