PF grounded

Postby b9 on Tue Jul 24, 2007 11:03 pm

I've patched up PF standalone to v4.04. I got 1 flight out of it. Now I get an error message after accepting mission: "mission loading failed: internal error. Can't load...."

Any ideas please?

I've started with a new campaign, some missions load, some don't. I've listed them:

All Japanese missions ok
USMC missions ok
RN missions ok
USAAF Bomber only missions ok
Netherlands RAAF, RAF, RNZAF missions don't load: mission loading error
USN and USAAF fighter missions do load, but no cockpit view and no control of aircraft.

Any ideas? Is there a newer patch than 4.04?

Hi B9! Welcome to Airwarfare Network!
Your mentioning of the "no cockpit" does lead me to believe a wrong patch was installed or you skipped a patch...

You can check the installation procedure through the Installation and Patching Guide It has links to the patches too; just browse down to the Pacific Fighters StandAlone Installation and Patching :) Don't mix it up with the Merged install.

PF Standalone can be patched up to 4.04

When PF is installed as merged edition it can be patched to 4.04m for free and then further to 4.08m by installing several patches and pay-for addons.
It would need FB+Ace Expansion Pack, all free and several pay-for add-ons and patches.
Buying the Sturmovik 1946 DVD set will install to FB 4.07m in one go - you'll only need one free 4.08m patch (144MB) to get to the latest version that 99.99% of users play online then. There is still one last free patch to come; 4.09m which will conclude the series. Sturmo 46 contains all content from FB, AEP, PF, Pe-2, Sturmoviks over Manchuria. and Sturmovik 1946 - All of these are pay-for games/add-ons. It also includes all free patch content upto 4.07m. There is no way to install to another version but 4.07m though (No PF standalone).

Hope this helps, Any problems or questions, just let us know.

Good Luck!

MaXMhZ many thanx for your reply. I've downloaded all patches as non m types. i may try and re install the sim again. And yes, I take your advice, next stop is 1946.

Many thanks, and good flying

Good Luck re-installing!

It's a bit of a nuisance, but it's certainly worth all the trouble :)
As is Sturmo 1946 for that matter; many new flyable planes, and loads of maps to fly them on.

I've bitten the bullet and installed 1946. Very impressive. Upgrade is now needed.

Now all I get is ear ache from her indoors for being sat in front of the screen all evening, sigh. Things we blokes sacrifice, hey?
