SAPI Failure On Just One Profile

Postby Mongo on Sat Mar 12, 2005 4:36 am

Hi All. I know it's rude to ask advice on the first post so...

I Have been playing flight sims for many years, and recently read about VAC on another forum. Thanks very much, I love this program!

I made some simple profiles for several games, all of which worked perfectly, (yes I am running SAPI 5.1)

I then made a profile to handle all the communications for IL2 FB. Once again, it worked perfectly. Then I expanded the profile with commands for pretty much every function...and herein lies my problem.

My IL2 FB profile will no longer work. I can load the profile, but when I turn VAC on I get the error message SAPI failed to initialize. If I try the Test Phrase function I get the same error message. All other profiles are working fine. I checked through my extensive list of commands and they seem to be in order.

I would appreciate any advice on resolving the problem.

Another newbie faux pas...replying to my own post.

I just fixed my own problem. While I carefully checked through my action commands, one of my phrases had a backslash tacked on to the end. It was messing the whole thing up.

I think I will stick with my comms profile for IL2 FB. It adds realism to the sim. Thanks all. :D

BTW: For others who may experience this problem, under the tools menu there is an option to send activation phrases to notepad. This made my simple error really stand out, and saved me lots of searching. Give it a try.
